CRR Grants for Hatchery-Associated Projects

The 2026 grant round is open, draft applications are due March 30. See dates below for preapplication requirements.

Year-round engagement is encouraged to develop ideas prepare for future grant rounds. Contact us for workshop opportunities in June (request due by May 31) and October (request due by September 30).

Hatchery-associated production (HAP) projects involve the artificial production or rearing of salmonids. CRR Program funding is available for on-the-ground HAP projects, or activities that lead to on-the-ground projects, aimed at the reintroduction and recovery of Endangered Species Act-listed (listed) Cowlitz salmon and steelhead populations originating upstream of the Barrier Dam.

Key dates for 2026

  • September 30, 2025: Deadline to request fall workshop
  • February 19 – February 27: pre-application meetings (required, contact Tacoma Power to schedule)
  • February 23: Letter of Intent due at noon (required)
  • March 30: Draft Application due at noon (required)
  • April 20: (week of): proposal presentations (required, Tacoma Power will contact to schedule)
  • May 7: feedback emailed to applicants
  • May 31: Deadline to request spring workshop
  • June 22: Final Application due at noon (required)
  • October 6: FTC makes CRR funding decisions
