Gravity Pipeline Wells Project
Tacoma Water is upgrading the Gravity Pipeline Wells, located Southwest of 112th St E and 86th Ave E., including replacing well pumps and motors, demolishing existing buildings, and building new ones. We are also adding a corrosion control facility. This project ensures water service reliability from this source, primarily a backup source for situations such as a drought or an earthquake.
September 2023 Update:
Well are in the design and permitting phase, which will continue into 2024.
Key project milestones and timeline:
- Design and permitting – Now to Nov. 2024
- Surveying – Complete
- Well testing – Complete
- Construction – TBD
Upgrades to our Gravity Pipeline Wells will occur on Pipeline Road at the facilities shown in the image below.
