As part of the North 21st Street pole replacement project, TPU is required to plant trees in compliance with the zoning code.
Public Works and the City’s urban forestry program located trees in compliance with the standards for intersection and stopping site distance. This work ensures the new trees don’t block sight lines, are sufficiently set back from the roadway, and are not in the way of future road improvements.
The ultimate roadway improvements have not yet been defined. In the intervening years, trees are an investment that pays big dividends in terms of making a community healthier and move livable, and are consistent with the City’s goals of increasing tree canopy coverage.
