Tacoma Power determines no cause for concern from soil settlement near Cushman Trail

Tacoma Power staff is aware of public concerns related to soil settlement near a Tacoma Power transmission tower in Gig Harbor. Tacoma Power civil engineering visited the site and determined the soil settlement does not pose a risk to the transmission tower.  Further, the noticeable localized soil settlement does not indicate the hillside is at risk to slide into Puget Sound.

The settlement is near a trail on TPU property that is not part of the Cushman Trail maintained trail system managed by PenMet Parks. While TPU does not prohibit the public from entering our property for recreational use, visitors are responsible for their own safety in unmaintained areas.
