Commercial Project Development Process

Planning a new commercial electrical service or changes to an existing service? Follow the steps below to submit your application, complete the design process, and prepare your project for construction.

Commercial Project Process

  1. Submit your application

Complete the Electrical Service Application and submit the plans and project information needed for us to begin reviewing your project. You’ll need to provide:

Plot maps and engineering plans for proposed and existing utilities
Roadway designs, including stationing, cross-sections, curbs, and sidewalks
Electronic AutoCAD civil and site plans
Voltage and electrical load requirements, including the proposed service locations
    Join trench participants

Your AutoCAD plans should include applicable stormwater, sewer, water, elevation, landscaping, parking, and outdoor lighting information.

    Submit Application

  2. Pay your engineering deposit

After reviewing your application, New Services Engineering will visit the site, prepare the initial design and agreement, and calculate your project cost.

Once the deposit is paid, we will complete the preliminary detailed electrical design and plans and send them to you and the appropriate public agencies and utilities.

  3. Pay your project fees and secure easements

Pay all remaining project fees and obtain any required utility easements. Construction plans cannot be released until these requirements are complete.

  4. Submit Final Revisions

Submit any final revisions to your plans. We will release the construction drawing and required fees, easements, and final plan revisions once they are complete.
