Residential Step Process

1. Step

   Submit your application

   Complete the Electrical Service Application in Accela and provide the necessary information needed to review your project, including:

   Roadway designs, if applicable
   Electronic AutoCAD civil and site plans
   Voltage and electrical load requirements
   Joint trench participants

   After you apply, New Services Engineering will review your plans, visit the site, prepare the initial design and agreement, and calculate your project cost and engineering deposit.

2. Step

   Pay your engineering deposit

   Once your deposit is paid, Tacoma Power will complete the detailed electrical design and plans. Preliminary construction plans will be sent to you and the appropriate public agencies and utilities for review.

3. Step

   Pay your project fees

   Pay all remaining project fees and obtain any required utility easements. Construction plans cannot be released until these requirements are complete.

4. Step

   Submit final revisions

   Submit any final revisions to your plans. We will release the construction drawing and required fees, easements, and final plan revisions once they are complete.
