Water Supply Outlook

Conditions in February 2018

Overall, the water supply outlook is favorable and Green River conditions are near normal.

February closed with a surge of snow in the watershed. The Snow Water Equivalent (the amount of water contained within the snowpack), nearly doubled during the last half of the month. February also brought the end of flood control operations at Howard Hanson Dam and the beginning of the water storage season - the period we begin to accumulate and store water for use during the dry season.

More snow is expected in the coming weeks. Precipitation has been well above normal this winter. We don’t anticipate any water shortages at this time.
