Take a look at some current numbers related to the rainfall and snowpack that effect Tacoma Water's supply. 

 

Conditions in May 2017

River conditions, snowpack and weather
We anticipate that river flows shouls be above average for the next few months. Since the start of the water year (Oct. 1), the Green River is at 119% of average. 

Snowpack is healthy, and the melt has started. 

The long-range forecast is for warmer than normal temperatures. Next winter, El Nino may develop, which could lead to a warmer-than-normal winter. 

Water storage
The reservoir elevation behind Haward Hanson Dam is about 1,161 feet, which is 87% of the way to the spring refill target of 1,167 feet.
