Public meeting on Cowlitz River fisheries set for March 26 in Chehalis

Tacoma Power, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Cowlitz Fisheries Technical Committee will host an informational public meeting about Cowlitz River fisheries and hatchery programs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. The meeting will take place at the Veterans Memorial Museum (100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis, WA, 98532).

Attendees will learn about Cowlitz River hatchery fish production, salmon and steelhead populations, and the Cowlitz River Fisheries and Hatchery Management Plan annual review process.

The public will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide input at the meeting.

This will be the first of several public meetings in 2015 that will focus on the process used to set hatchery fish production and make recommendations to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife about Cowlitz River fisheries.

People can view the meeting agenda at tacomapower.com/cowlitzfishreport and submit questions in advance to cowlitz@cityoftacoma.org.
