FEBRUARY METER ESTIMATES

Due to the snowstorms that hit the greater Tacoma and Puget Sound area in early February, many of our meters were not accessible for meter reads for several days. For invoices issued during that period, utility service will be estimated based on past usage. 

WHAT IS MY ESTIMATE BASED ON?

If you're enrolled in the Budget Billing program or you have not lived at the same address for at least 12 months, your estimate will be based on the billing cycle immediately prior. If you've lived at the same address for more than 12 months, your estimate will be based on this same billing cycle one year ago. 

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY BILL HAS ESTIMATED READINGS?

On page two of your bill, the area that shows meter readings will say "estimated."

WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON MY NEXT BILL? 

If your bill has estimated meter reads due to weather, in the next billing cycle once we've been able to access your meter, you will be billed for your actual use. If your prior use was low or high, the billing on the actual usage will "true up" the amount owed for both billing periods.
