For the first time in 2007, Tacoma Water’s Second Supply Project provided another 6.5 billion gallons of water storage behind the dam during the summer to assist with the regional drinking water supply. Additionally, we own and operates seven wells on the North Fork of the Green River within the watershed, which get used when the Green River becomes too cloudy. Tacoma Water also supplements its Green River supply with groundwater from more than 20 additional wells located in Tacoma and central Pierce County.
