Public Safety Outreach
To further the public’s knowledge of safety and the railroads, including highway-rail safety, Tacoma Rail holds an annual open house in conjunction with Operation Livesaver, an international, nonprofit education and awareness program dedicated to ending tragic collisions, fatalities and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and on railroad rights of way. Tacoma Rail also incorporates programs that teach rail safety at local schools.
