Tacoma Rail uses Railcar Management Inc’s Transportation Management System. It allows for the tracking of railcars and their length, weight restrictions, car hire, demurrage and freight charges. It also features real-time EDI communication with all the railroads in North America.

Tacoma Rail is using the system to its fullest to provide efficiencies in the operation.  Customized enhancements have been created with the software that are unique to railroad. The newest additions are communications through this website, such as the graphs, and customer reporting through e-mail.
