One of the most cost-effective options for saving energy, money and reducuing operation and maintenance costs in your business is upgrading to energy-efficient lighting. You can get:
  1. A rebate check for up to 70% of the project cost;

Rebates to fit your business needs

Our lighting rebate program offers $0.17 per kWh saved in the first year, up to 70% of the total project cost, when you upgrade to more efficient lighting in your business, including:

  • Incandescent to CFL or LED screw based replacements
  • T12 to T8 linear fluorescent retrofits
  • HID to electronic higher efficiency, to fluorescent or LED
  • Incandescent to LED exit signs
  • Occupancy sensors/lighting controls
Download and complete the appropriate application. We will conduct an inspection audit of all projects to confirm equipment type and quantity, both pre-and post-installation.
  • Provide manufacturer specification sheets for all proposed new equipment (lamps, ballasts, kits and fixtures).
  • Ensure all proposed equipment is listed on one of the approved lists, if required.

  • Must be a Tacoma Power customer served by a business rate
  • Must submit an application with required documents and obtain project preapproval before you order or buy any materials 
  • T8 lamps and ballasts must be listed by the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) standards for high-performance business lighting systems.
  • CFL bulbs must be on the Energy Star light bulbs approved list.
  • LED fixtures and lamps must be listed on one of the following approved lists:
