The Tacoma Public Utility Board voted in November to return approximately $15 million to Tacoma Power customers after receiving a refund from the Bonneville Power Administration for overpayment.

Customers will receive a one-time credit on their bill between March 3 and May 4.

To qualify for a refund, customers must meet the following criteria:

·        Open, active Tacoma Power account in 2007

·        Tacoma Power customer on Dec. 31, 2008

Tacoma Power based the refund amounts on 2007 electrical use and will credit the money on current customers’ bills.

The credit amounts will vary, because they are based on actual usage. Most residential customers will receive a credit equal to about one-half of an average months’ electric bill.
