To get your kitchen shelter reservation request form:
- Download the interactive Kitchen Shelter Reservation Application (pdf 315 kb)
- Visit or contact the park where you want to reserve
- Pick one up at Tacoma Public Utilities, 3628 S. 35th St. in Tacoma, Washington
How to apply
Mail in or drop off the form and $50 deposit at the park where you wish to reserve after Jan. 1 for that year’s reservations.
To give everyone a fair chance at a reservation:
- Dropped-off applications are treated as mail.
- Multiple applications received on the same business day are randomly drawn.
Confirmations
- You will receive a confirmation by mail if the kitchen shelter is available for the date you requested.
- We'll return your form and deposit if the kitchen shelter is already booked.
When can you reserve?
You may reserve our kitchen shelters between April 15 and Oct. 15.
Want to call the whole thing off?
Contact the park to cancel your reservation. Cancellation fees:
- More than 14 days before your reservation date - $10
- 14 or fewer days before your reservation date - $50 deposit
Other things to know
- We don't allow alcoholic beverages in our kitchen shelters or day-use areas.
- Our kitchen shelters may not to be used for fund-raising or for-profit events.
- Only barbecue briquettes are allowed in the kitchen shelter barbecues.
- The day-use parking area at Mayfield Lake Park fills up quickly on sunny summer days. You may have to locate parking outside of the park. We recommend that your group carpools and arrives early.
