In partnership with Tacoma Rail, the Port co-hosted the first joint train tour of the 2010-2011 school year. More than 200 students and their teachers from Firgrove Elementary, Hedden Elementary, Charles Wright Academy and First Presbyterian School boarded a passenger train last week for an educational trip through the Tideflats.
Four similar tours will be scheduled for the second half of the school year, although dates have yet to be selected. Elementary schools interested in participating may contact Hillary Hunt at the Port by calling (253) 428-8662 or e-mail hhunt@portoftacoma.com.
