Get a buzz from your brew, not your bulb. The first 103 people who order lattes from Tully’s Coffee on Friday, June 20, will pay only $1.03 for their drink and get a free compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulb from Tacoma Power. The offer is a partnership between Tacoma Power and 103.7 KMTT FM, The Mountain.
CFL bulbs last seven to 10 years longer than incandescent bulbs and use two-thirds less energy. CFLs - which often look like spiral light bulbs – are not like the ones from the past. New technology means the bulbs now run quietly, without the buzzing sound they used to make. They have a better light quality and turn on instantly, without a flicker or pause.
You can get your free bulb and $1.03 latte from 6 to 10 a.m. at any of Tacoma’s four Tully’s locations:
- 1427 Pacific Ave. (Downtown)
- 764 Broadway (Theater District)
- 24 Tacoma Ave. N. (Stadium District)
- 2312 N. 30th St. (Old Town)
Tacoma Power employees will be on hand to answer your CFL questions. For more information, call the Tacoma Power Information Center at (253) 502-8377 or visit www.tacomapower.com.
