The City of Tacoma Arts Commission and Click! Cable TV will soon host a Click! ON Demand channel called “TacomaArt & Culture”. The new channel will air a variety of current arts programs and projects produced or funded by the Tacoma Arts Commission.
The South Sound community can submit art work for consideration free of charge. The deadline is July 20, 2009.
Examples of programs may include, but are not limited to:
· a music video featuring original content on DVD;
· a DVD of spoken word;
· a short film or recording of a live arts event on DVD;
· a musician who assembles a DVD displaying the cover on screen while original music plays;
· a visual artist who creates a DVD slideshow of artwork set to music.
Programs must be at least 30 seconds long, but no longer than 60 minutes. You must have the legal rights to all content (images, sound, words, etc.) or the submission. If the program does not have a soundtrack, consider accessing the many online sources of royalty-free music.
Submission of an art program will be a juried process; the submission of materials for use on Click! ON Demand does not guarantee that work will be aired or how long it will air for. Selections will be determined by the City of Tacoma at its sole discretion. Airing materials depends on many factors including available space and air time, general interest and appropriateness for public audience.
ON Demand is accessible to Click! Cable TV customers with a digital receiver.
There is a two submission limit per person. Content must have been created within the last five years. For questions, call (253) 591-5191 or e-mail Tacoma.submissions@cityoftacoma.org.
Jury standards:
· Artistic excellence of the program;
· General interest and support for the program and how it compares to other programs submitted;
· Ability of the program to appeal to the interests of a wide, general audience;
· Appropriateness for family viewing under local community standards.
