Cool off with Click! Cable TV

July 27, 2009

Media contact: Diane Lachel, government and community relations manager, (253) 502-8537

Sweltering? Feeling a little light-headed? Click! Cable TV has a special treat for anyone looking to cool off during this week’s heat wave. Customers can tune to “Click! 1” (channel 1 for those with cable receivers or channel 117 for those without a receiver) between July 27 and July 30 to cool off with pictures of recent winter snowstorms in the Tacoma area. The pictures will be accompanied by appropriate music and sounds of the season.

“We did something similar in July 2007 and received hundreds of thank you calls,” said Mitch Robinson, marketing & business operations manager for Click! Cable TV. “We thought it would help people who are dealing with the heat to remember past snowstorms and know that this heat wave won’t last forever.”

Click! encourages you to stay safe in the heat wave. Tuning in can help you mentally cool off, but you should also check out the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department Web site (tpchd.com) for tips on avoiding heat exposure.

The photos seen on Click! 1 and 117 are courtesy of Tacoma resident Kevin Freitas, who blogs his commentary and photographs of Tacoma along with others at www.feedtacoma.com.
