CableFax, a national cable television magazine , has named Mitch Robinson, marketing and business operations manager for Tacoma Power’s Click! Network, as Independent Marketer of the Year. Robinson, who will be recognized at a formal ceremony in October, will receive the award for his creative efforts marketing Click! Cable TV in Pierce County.

“Our small, municipal cable operation competes with some of the largest cable and satellite companies in the nation, so we’re especially pleased that Mitch has been recognized by the industry,” said Cyndi Wikstrom, Click! Network general manager. “He is innovative, creative, always willing to put himself out there for ‘the local choice’ and has a great team to support his efforts.”

Some of Robinson’s more visible marketing efforts include dying his hair purple to inspire customer service milestones, rebranding the retail cable TV service to “Click! Cable TV, your local choice,” partnering with Tacoma’s School of the Arts on an original song and video to mark Click!’s 10th anniversary, initiating Cable 101 workshops and leading efforts to acquire exclusive local video-on-demand programming.

Robinson has worked at Click! since 2006; prior to that worked for Expedia.com in corporate marketing and public relations.
