Click! Cable TV customers can now view 15 exclusive films, on free, local video on demand, recently featured in the 2008 Tacoma Film Festival at The Grand Cinema.

Washingtonians produced and directed six of the films: “Tacoma Chalk Off,” “Verlaine,” “One Year Later,” “HomeLand,” “Everett DuPen: Sculptor” and “The Obituary Writer.”

“Tacoma Chalk Off,” directed by local producer Randy Sparks, briefly examines how Chalk Off got started in Tacoma and why local artists and the community rose to the call to help save Frost Park from being fenced up and closed to the public. Frost Park is named after Tacoma Police officer Larry L. Frost who was killed on duty.

“Verlaine,” which won Best Short Film, was directed by Nick Lentz, and features James, a man who’s on the run and desperately needs to disappear. He arranges a meeting with an eccentric man named Verlaine who is reluctant to negotiate the terms. James must then decide if a new identity is really worth the price.

Other films include: “A Night in the Sunlight,” “One Bucket of Water,” “America Betrayed,” “Donut Heaven,” “Gimme Music, Gimme Shelter,” “Indestructible,” “Last Day,” “Mugs” and “Cabbie.”

Films range in length from two minutes to full-length features and can be seen exclusively on Click! Cable TV.
