Tacoma Power may have money for people who need help paying their electric bill. Tacoma PowerAid, a utility program aimed at customers in need, offers up to $150 for electric bill assistance to people who meet income requirements.
Qualifying residential customers can receive Tacoma PowerAid assistance through the end of the year or while funds are available, provided they have not already received assistance from Tacoma Power’s Family Need program.
“We understand how hard it may be for some people to pay their bills – especially in this economy,” said Customer Solutions Manager Francine Artis. “This program is aimed at relieving some of the financial burden so customers can keep their power on.”
To qualify for Tacoma PowerAid assistance, gross monthly household income must fall between the ranges below for the number of people in the household:

Customers whose income is below this range may qualify for Tacoma Power’s Family Need Program. To apply for Family Need, customers living within the City of Tacoma should contact Associated Ministries at (253) 651-5065. Customers living in University Place, Fircrest, Lakewood or other areas within Pierce County should call Pierce County Community Services at 1-866-223-1359.
