Tacoma Power T&D interns earn $24 an hour. You are hired as an Engineer In Training to do real engineering work and we pay accordingly. One of our internship mottos is: “If you weren’t doing it, one of our engineers would have to!”

Housing
If you are new to the area, unfortunately, we are unable to assist with or coordinate housing assistance. However we can recommend local Web sites to assist with a successful housing search. We hope our competitive pay helps offset these costs.

Transportation
We offer our employees a free bus pass for Pierce Transit. Our address is 3628 S 35th St., Tacoma, WA 98409. Downtown Tacoma offers Tacoma Link Light Rail. Our building is not accessible from light rail, but this service does help you get around downtown relatively quickly. Some interns also chose to rent cars for the summer from local car rental agencies.

If you are coming from Howard University, we will pay one round-trip airfare from your home to Tacoma.
