If you are a residential customer, you can anticipate your utility payment amount by opting for the Budget Billing Plan. Here’s how it works:
Your Budget Bill monthly payment for 11 months is based on three items:
- Your electricity bill for the past 12 months, divided by 11 and rounded down to the nearest whole dollar.
- Your water bill for the past 12 months, divided by 11 and rounded down to the nearest whole dollar.
- Fixed monthly charges for wastewater, solid waste and storm water utility services if applicable.
During the year, we will automatically evaluate your account after the 4th and 8th month to make sure your budget plan is on track. If your electricity or water use has changed to result in more than a $5 per month difference in your bill, your budget amount will be recalculated automatically and will appear on your next bill.
The 12th month Budget Bill will be used to adjust your payments to actual consumption for the year. Then, your budget amount for the next period is recalculated using the previous 12 months’ billing history. Your monthly payment is still due 10 days after the bill is mailed. The due date will be stated on each bill.
