How property owners and managers can participate
• Contact Tacoma Power at (253) 502-8363 or power@cityoftacoma.org to learn about program details and to schedule an on-site audit to qualify your apartment building or complex and determine energy saving opportunities.

• If you're currently working with a contractor, inform them that you plan to participate in the Tacoma Power Multifamily Program. If they are unfamiliar with the program specifications, have them call Tacoma Power. We will provide your contractor with program specifications and contractor procedures.

• If you are not currently working with a contractor, contact Tacoma Power. We can provide you with a list of contractors familiar with this program. They are not endorsed by Tacoma Power, but they have met minimum program participation requirements. You may use any contractor, given they are able to perform the work to program specifications and are properly licensed, bonded and insured. We recommend securing bids from at least two contractors.

• All projects must comply with the program specifications in order to receive the financial incentives.

• It is possible to have more than one contractor involved in your project (windows, lighting and insulation contractors). All of your contractors must follow the Tacoma Power program specifications and program requirements.

• Once you have selected your contractor(s), they  will complete the Rebate Application Form, including the proposed  rebate. Please sign the application and send it to Tacoma Power. Upon successful review, we will notify you to proceed with the job.

• Contact Tacoma Power if there are any changes to the original bid proposals. Any changes will affect the incentive amount.

• After the job is complete, your contractor(s) will call Tacoma Power to schedule an inspection visit to confirm that all measures were installed to the program specifications. Once the job passes inspection, your rebate will be issued. Normal processing requires six to eight weeks.
