Rebates for motors, variable frequency drives and Green Motor Rewinds
When the motor powering your critical equipment is ready to be replaced or upgraded, look to Tacoma Power first. We have rebates for qualifying NEMA Premium efficiency motors, variable frequency drives and Green Motor Rewinds. And the rebate is only the first benefit you’ll see because energy-efficient motors pay for themselves over time with improved reliability and reduced repair costs.

NEMA Premium efficiency motors
NEMA Premium efficiency motors are especially cost effective when annual operation exceeds 2,000 hours and when motor repair costs are high. Rebates start at $15 for a 1 horsepower (HP) motor and climb to $750 for a 200 HP motor.

Variable frequency drives
Consider variable frequency drives to operate motors at lower speeds when they’re serving loads less than their full capacity. Energy savings of 30 to 50 percent are often possible. (Please note that rebates for variable frequency drives must be applied for and approved prior to purchasing the equipment.)

Green Motor Rewinds
Your motor qualifies as a Green Motor Rewind if the rewind results in the motor maintaining its original efficiency level. Green Motor Rewind rebates are $100 per horsepower. Learn more about Green Motor Rewinds at www.greenmotors.org.

Who qualifies for a rebate?
Tacoma Power customers who purchase and install qualifying new equipment or complete a Green Motor Rewind are eligible for a rebate.
