Credit Policies for Late Payments

Payment Assistance
Utility bill assistance is available.

Utility payments are due 10 days after the bill is mailed. Both the due date and the mailing date appear on each bill. If you are unable to pay your bill, please call our Commercial Services Office, (253) 502-8606, as soon as possible. We will work with you to make arrangements for payment.

Keep in mind:

  • Tacoma Public Utilities and the City of Tacoma provide customers with reasonable amount of time to pay bills or make arrangements.

  • We will make payment arrangements under unusual circumstances.

  • Late payment charges are added if bills are not paid on time; the charge is $3 or 1 percent of the outstanding bill, whichever is greater.

  • Unpaid bills and deposits my result in service being discontinued. Additional fees are applied to restore service.
