What to do if your account is in collections
You may have received a letter from NCO Financial Systems, a credit/collections agency; or you may have been notified of an outstanding debt for past utility charges from TPU.

If you did not respond by the date noted in the letter, you may receive a Disconnection Notice from us on your current services. Your current service could be subject to disconnection for this debt even if the account is current.

Collections actions will proceed on outstanding balances even if a TPU account no longer exists.

TPU cannot restore a disconnected service until satisfactory payment arrangements are met.

What do I do now?
Do not call TPU. Once debt has gone to collections, it is your responsibility to resolve the matter directly with NCO Financiual Systems. Make payment arrangements with NCO Financial Systems by calling (253) 927-1614, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What if I cannot pay all my debt in full?
If you are unable to pay your debt in full, you may qualify for a payment installment plan through NCO Financial Systems, not TPU.

Remember, the longer you delay payment, the more interest will be added to your outstanding balance.

If you pay your debt in full, you may qualify to have a portion of the interest waived.
